Living Streets
Living Streets
In partnership with Living Streets, the national walking charity, we are delivering the WOW Year Round Walk to School Challenge for primary aged children and Little Feet walking activities for preschool aged children.
Our team of enthusiastic Living Streets project coordinators are available to support your school or early years setting in this journey, and can be contacted via ed.wicks@livingstreets.org.uk
Coming up: International Walk to School Month
Get little ones walking this October during International Walk to School Month with Living Streets’ Little Feet walking challenge packs. These challenge packs are designed for early years settings and the fun and engaging activities cover themes:
People Who Help Us and Minibeasts
Starting in October, each theme consists of a two-four week burst of activity and can be run back to back. Little Feet’s journey maps, stickers and educational games are designed to reward families for their walking journey and walking successes (cycling and scooting count too!) and aim to install healthy habits for life.
For primary aged children
The WOW West Midlands programme helps schools encourage pupils to walk to school. The programme provides free resources and activities to educate and help pupils self-report how they travel. This includes a badge reward for travelling sustainably (walk, cycle, scoot).
Initiatives during this time include:
- Walk to School week (w/c 5 October 2020)
